Readiness audit or Decision Sprint? It depends on your question.
An AI readiness audit reviews your data, tools, people and governance and gives you a report and a list of ideas. A Decision Sprint tests one decision on your own cases and gives you a written call. Pick the audit when you don’t yet know where to start. Pick the Sprint when a specific decision is already on your desk.
What does a readiness audit cover?
The two Canadian offers I found review areas such as data, tools, processes, governance, people and security. Both run about one to two weeks and end with a short list of recommended use cases, and one adds a readiness score and a written action plan. The one that publishes a price lists CAD 3,500 to 12,000.
What does a Decision Sprint cover?
One workflow and one decision. In about two weeks, I test the options on your own cases, including routine cases, hard cases and known failures. You get a written decision record with the evidence, the reviewer time each option takes and a named owner. The call is one of build, buy, fix, continue, scale or stop. The fee is fixed, from CAD 15,000.

When is an audit the right buy?
An audit fits when leadership wants a broad view before choosing anything, when you need a baseline of data and governance for the board, or when nobody can yet name a workflow worth testing.
When is a Sprint the right buy?
A Sprint fits when a decision is close and costly to get wrong, such as a vendor contract, a stalled pilot or a slow process someone wants to automate. It answers that one question with evidence from your own work. An audit gives you a list of ideas. A Sprint tells you whether the first one works on your cases, how much checking it needs and who will own it.
Do we need an audit before a Sprint?
No. If you can name the workflow and who owns the decision, you can start with a Sprint. If an audit has already given you a list of ideas, a Sprint can test the top one.
